　『変身』『審判』などで有名な小説家、フランツ・カフカ。20世紀最大の作家と称されるカフカは、実は”超”のつくネガティブな人。誰よりも落ち込み、誰よりも弱音をはき、誰よりも前に進もうとしなかった人間なのです。

　カフカは何事にも成功せず、そして失敗からも学ばなかったとされています。生前は作家として認められることはなく、普通のサラリーマンとして仕事をしていました。結婚したいと思っても生涯独身、胃が弱くて不眠症。家族とは不仲で、何かと父親のせいにしていました。長編小説を書いても途中で行き詰まり、ほとんどが未完。満足できる作品を書き上げることができなかったため、すべて焼却するようにと遺言に残していました。
